Burgess Hodgson advises Cofide on acquisition by Key Factor

Burgess hodgson advise cofide on their aquisiton by Keyfactor.

Burgess Hodgson is proud to have supported Cofide on its acquisition by Keyfactor. It marks an exciting milestone for the innovative technology company and highlights the importance of identity and security solutions in an evolving AI-driven world.

Cofide was founded by Matthew Bates to solve the complex challenges of securing cloud workloads and AI agents. Driven by the rise of hacker threats, his team was dedicated to building a platform that eliminates risky, static passwords.

After Cofide’s development of ‘temporary digital passports’, organisations can now verify, and secure AI systems across any cloud environment.

Recognising the value of this technology, Keyfactor, a global leader in trust infrastructure for AI and machine identities, acquired Cofide.

The acquisition will enable Keyfactor to extend its platform capabilities and help organisations manage and secure the growing number of AI agents and non-human identities operating across modern cloud environments.

Throughout the transaction, Tom Saltmer, Tax Partner at Burgess Hodgson, took the lead in supporting Cofide with taxation, financial and accountancy advice throughout the transaction and working alongside other professional advisors. With this, he ensured that Cofide’s immediate objectives and long-term goals would be met.

“Having access to specialist advice throughout the process helps business owners navigate complexity, manage risk and maximise value”.

Burgess Hodgson provide taxation and transaction support across all sectors and we are incredibly proud to have played a part in supporting Cofide on this transaction

We wish Cofide and Keyfactor every success in their exciting new chapter together.
