Mike was born and raised in East Kent, before attending Cardiff University to study Economics.

He spent 11 years with the Inland Revenue, achieving the grade of Fully Trained Inspector and working in Dover, Canterbury and London. He joined Burgess Hodgson in 1986 as Tax Manager and became a Partner in 1997. Mike is a Chartered Taxation Adviser, has specialised in taxation throughout his working life and has considerable experience in all areas.

Mike is married with 2 children, 2 grandchildren and lives in River. Outside of work he has a strong connection with rugby and is the current president of Dover Rugby club.
